Resettlement Counsellor - Full Time

The Settlement Counsellor is responsible for providing immediate and essential settlement assistance to Government Assisted Refugees (GARs) from various ethnic groups. Services include needs and assets assessment, solution focused counselling, delivering group/individual orientation, information and referral provision, interpretation and follow up. Settlement counsellor is expected to work co-operatively with others; demonstrate flexibility in organizing work; show a high degree of initiative, discernment, and resourcefulness; must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate thoughtfulness in decision-making.

Administrative Assistant – Notification of Arrival

Reporting to the Senior Program Coordinator, this role requires a candidate who is tech-savvy and pays great attention to detail, and has excellent time management and organizational skills. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a high level of professional maturity and judgment, and has the ability to identify/anticipate the needs of the program’s team and clients. The primary responsibility is to monitor, update and report Notifications of Arrival to the team and related parties to ensure that the program’s goals and objectives are accomplished and that operations run efficiently.

Case Worker/Outreach Worker

The Trades Connect program provides services that facilitate social, economic, and civic integrations of newcomers into the community and society at large. Services provided include needs assessment, service planning, information and referrals, reception and orientation, translation, interpretation, and introduction to community resources.

Construction Pathway Facilitator

The Construction Pathway Facilitator will support newcomers in honing their proficiency in occupational math and English through hands-on skill-based projects and creative instructional processes, including recruiting volunteers and guest instructors as needed. Collaborating with the Trades Connect team, the Facilitator will support the broader needs of clients with a focus on training and will utilize the Trades Connect data system to ensure proper data management of clients and volunteers.

Established in 1985, TNO started as a family and newcomer support organization and has grown to over 170 staff and 200 volunteers. TNO provides a wide range of community, social, and immigrant settlement services including language training, child, youth, and family programs, employment services, primary health care services, housing services, programs for seniors, and support for families and people with disabilities, community development initiatives, mental health, and many other complementary programs

Community Engagement Worker

The Community Engagement Worker as part of our Green Initiatives will be responsible for engaging with residents, community groups, volunteers, local partners, service providers and stakeholders connecting them to programs offered by the Gateway Bike Hub an initiative in partnership with Flemingdon Health Centre (FHC) and Evergreen serving our communities of Flemingdon Park and Thorncliffe Park.
