VAW Counsellor

Responsibilities:

• Assist to ensure daily quality implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Gender-based violence- related projects and interventions.
• Engage with the community and community representatives to understand needs and gaps in Gender-based violence programming.

Family Programs EarlyON Support Staff

West Neighbourhood House, formerly St. Christopher House, is a multi-service, neighbourhood-based agency that has served the diverse communities of downtown west Toronto since 1912. The central purpose of West Neighbourhood House is to enable less-advantaged individuals, families and groups in the community to gain greater control over their lives and community.

Program Coordinator NSLT

Working as a key part of the management team, the Coordinator supervises a team of Settlement and Wellbeing Counsellors in the operation and delivery of NSLT program. This includes the provision of immediate and essential services like needs assessment, orientation sessions, referrals, group information sessions and regular follow-up to support clients in reaching their goals. Under the direction of the program manager, the Coordinator manages the quality and delivery of services, prepares reports, supervises staff, manages volunteers, maintains required documentation, communicates with partners, and monitors the team to ensure meeting all program requirements as per the organization’s set goals and targets, and always representing Polycultural in a professional manner.

Wellbeing Counsellor

Responsible for delivering crisis and mental health counselling that provides guidance and support to clients who are facing challenges and dealing with various problems, crises/stress of adjusting to life in Canada or due to high needs and situations. The Counsellor provides short term support and service planning to clients and effectively link these clients to the appropriate mainstream services, as applicable, including referring them to support groups, professional or clinical counselling services and peer networks. Familiarity with other services and resources in the community to work together with other organizations to provide accurate information and support is a requirement. Also, provides education to individuals and groups in the community with a focus on high-risk populations to promote mental health awareness and resilience.

Research Analyst

The Research Analyst is responsible for supporting funded study focusing on developing and testing a service model that can be employed by Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) workers to support refugee clients who may be experiencing mental distress and provide them with tools and resources to reduce mental distress and provide them with tools and resources to reduce mental distress.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator (CAMH) and Director of Monitoring, Reporting and Partnerships (Polycultural), the Research Analyst will work as part of a team to assist in the daily operation and implementation of a service model in Polycultural. The successful candidate will have a proven experience supporting quantitative research, including data collection and follow-up with participants, as well as supporting qualitative research activities, including facilitating and transcribing interviews, conducting qualitative data analysis and writing up results. Knowledge and experience with immigrant and refugee mental health and wellness is considered an asset.
