Peel Multicultural Council (PMC) was established in 1977 because of the concerns arising from a Social Planning Council report on Immigrant Needs in Peel. A group of ethnic leaders joined together to facilitate positive community relations. PMC is a non-profit and charitable organization that promotes a harmonious multicultural society and its key service pillars consist of settlement and integration of newcomers to Canada, neighborhood development, health and wellness, education & training and employment support.

Settlement Assistance and Family Support Services is a trusted not-for-profit social services agency that has been serving and advocating for newcomers, refugees and victims of all types of violence since 1989. The need to address Violence against Women was the seed of the organization's establishment. However, while the organization was initially founded to support women and children who were victims of domestic violence, it has since evolved and expanded its services to support other identified needs. Our trained staff provide a range of services to a diverse, multi-cultural and multi-lingual community in a responsible and professional manner in a safe non- judgmental and confidential environment that fosters trust, respect and collaboration.

CNC Head Childminder

As Head Childminder, lead our night program with a focus on child supervision, guideline compliance, and safety. Your creativity shapes developmental activities, fostering cultural respect. Manage playroom setup, program planning, and parent orientation. Lead and train Assistant/Volunteer Childminders, maintain a well-organized environment, and collaborate with the Language (LINC) Coordinator. Proactively address issues, manage reports, and handle program consumables. Keep parents informed, attend meetings, and fulfill additional duties. Your role is pivotal in creating a nurturing and enriching childminding environment.

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status.

We are searching for a full-time Settlement Worker, SEPT to provide settlement information and referral services to immigrants and refugees while located in designated schools in Scarborough.

School/Community Settlement Worker (Tagalog speaking)

This position is part of the SWIS/SEPT team and is a partnership between the Toronto District School Board, the Toronto Catholic District School Board, Toronto Public Libraries, and various other community partners. The purpose of this position is to provide information and referral to newcomers and bridge the gap between the newcomers, schools, and the community. The Settlement Worker will assist newcomer families and youth by providing them with appropriate information and referral services and one-time workshops and facilitating the process of settling in their new schools and communities.
