Training for Employment Support Services (TESS)
The newly developed course will be launched first time this year
from September 12 to October 31, 2022
This FREE course is designed to provide settlement service providers with the knowledge, skills, and tools to understand and address the needs, challenges and opportunities for clients seeking employment. Ultimately, the goal of this course is to prepare learners to provide excellent employment-related services, support, referrals and advocacy to immigrants, refugees and all/any migrants, by understanding the big issues that impact migrant communities in the areas of employment, developing a critical analysis, and learning about promising innovative practices.
Criteria for Participation:
This course is open to settlement workers and service providers who are working in or with the immigrant and refugee-serving sector across the province who are willing to:
Commit to approximately 3-6 hours of learning per week
Engage in TESS 101 Group in www.SettleNet.org, a new national online Community of Practice for the Settlement Sector
Please note this is a 5 Module ONLINE training program. At the successful completion of the entire e-course, you will receive a certification of completion from OCASI.
