Ontario recognized 20 outstanding seniors for their significant contributions to their communities and to the province with the Ontario Senior Achievement Awards.

The Ontario Senior Achievement Awards are the province's highest form of recognition for individuals over the age of 65. This year's recipients include:
*An award-winning writer who has authored three novels aimed at educating youth and increasing understanding and empathy about the history of Indigenous people
*A passionate advocate for gay and lesbian awareness who has been awarded the Guinness World Record for World's Oldest Drag Queen
*A refugee who created a support group to help reduce the isolation felt by many senior newcomer women.
