The Youth Services Department provides programming for newcomers to Canada between the ages of 6 to 24. The program runs several activities, outings and events throughout the year. This position will focus on recruiting newcomer youth in St. Catharines as well as planning and facilitating summer activities and events.


  • Recruit youth clients to the program
  • Creation of posters, flyers, brochures etc. marketing youth programming
  • Lead in planning and facilitating programming and events for youth clients
  • Assistance in engaging youth in summer programming
  • Planning and contributing to overall skill building programming for youth
  • Supporting centre wide activities and initiatives (i.e. Folk Arts Festival)
  • Administrative duties and data entry as assigned by the Youth Services Coordinator
  • Individual Reports to the Executive Director and Program Coordinator
  • Understand and uphold Folk Arts missions and values
  • Respect and value the diversity and unique needs of communities and individuals


  • Must be a current student, or attending school in September
  • Some College/University preferred
  • Strong English skills, a second language preferred
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience working with youth and children
