About the Position:

The United Way Greater Toronto funds this position. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager of Operations – Quality & Systems is a member of the management team and responsible for making significant contributions to the achievement of the core values and strategic plan goals of PCHS. This position provides innovative, strategic and day-to-day leadership to support PCHS management and staff to achieve both strategic and operational goals. This position initiates and implements the action plan to foster an environment of continuous improvement, learning, and employee engagement.

Report to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)


  • Provide leadership and performance management
  • Promote innovative and successful strategies to encourage a high level of visibility for PCHS as an organization of choice
  • Oversee, develop and ensure appropriate initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness by building individual and collective capacity through an overarching change management and learning strategy aligned to the PCHS strategic vision and goals
  • Ensure best practices embedded in all programs
  • Maintain and collate statistics for evaluation and reports to funders
  • Hire and supervise staff and manage a budget
  • Maintain critical linkages with other organizations and individuals
  • Participate in relevant committees and coalitions
  • Provide support to employees around client crisis management; and
  • Maintain current awareness and understanding of issues that contribute to the health and well-being of PCHS employees


  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant field combined with at least 3-5 years of professional management experience
  • Experience providing advice and support to senior leadership
  • Knowledge of Ontario Health and community sector, and workforce trends within this sector
  • In-depth development knowledge of human resources leading practices including talent acquisition and retention, change management, organizational development, compensation, recruitment and employee relations, processes, and evaluation tools
  • Well-developed knowledge of benchmarking tools to evaluate programs and services
  • Strong understanding of budget planning, resource allocation, financial monitoring, and organizing skills to direct staff
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills, including strong business writing skills and the ability to communicate information to a variety of stakeholders effectively
  • Excellent computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Highly organized with strong documentation skills and attention to detail with the appropriate handling of confidential and sensitive information
  • Exceptional project and time management skills, including planning, prioritization, and follow up
  • Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work flexible hours and in a fast-paced environment


  • Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License, have regular access to a reliable vehicle and provide proof of adequate vehicle insurance
  • Required to provide a satisfactory criminals reference check (CRC)
  • Current CPR/ First-Aid certification

Hours: Full time (Some evenings and weekends work is required)
Position to commence: June 15, 2020 or earlier
