Searching for government benefits can feel like wading through a huge ocean of information. With so many benefits programs out there, it can be hard to know where to start.
This webinar will teach you how to help people seeking ways to boost their incomes and/or reduce their expenses by simplifying the search for government benefits using the Benefits Wayfinder. This simple, easy-to-use, plain-language tool is a valuable aid for anyone supporting people to access benefits.
The webinar will include:
- A Benefits Wayfinder walkthrough using a "Persona" to highlight key features
- How you might use the Benefits Wayfinder to support your work with clients in a variety of contexts, from primary healthcare to food security to drop-in centres
- How individuals can use the tool on their own and the four ways to search for benefits.
The Benefits Wayfinder is accessible at benefitswayfinder.org and can be used by individuals, as well as community service providers that help people to access their income benefits. The tool includes information and resources from federal, provincial, and territorial governments, updated on an ongoing basis as new information becomes available.
This 1-hour webinar is for any organization who works directly with people living on low and modest incomes and is interested in learning about ways to help clients increase their incomes by accessing government benefits.
