Survey for Frontline Workers - Member Crisis Response

August 14, 2020 - 11:45pm
Online Event:

OCASI - The Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants Survey for Frontline Workers - Member Crisis Response.

The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting us all, and agencies are continuing to make decisions quickly to respond to the ever-changing environment. Indeed, each crisis provides an opportunity for organizational learning to occur and plans to be revised, and it is important to perform an analysis on the resilience of the Immigrant and Refugee-serving sector and its current state of preparedness. It is especially important for us to capture the perspective of frontline workers during this difficult time that has required so much adaptability.

OCASI has developed this comprehensive Crisis Response Survey for Frontline Workers in order to document the rapid actions staff in the sector have taken to continue to efficiently serve their clients. We will also assess how frontline workers are currently positioned to function moving forward, in contrast to the initial months of COVID-19. The data collected from this survey will analyze how the implemented work protocols and practices have affected staff, and help to understand the ongoing concerns and difficulties of those on the frontlines.

As our communities begin to fully open, this crisis review will be guided by the overarching lessons of: What went well and what could be improved? What are the key lessons learned? What additional changes do we need to make to our organizational models, procedures, and support resources to help employees?

The final report will capture what we have been learning, exploring and managing differently in order to prepare for a potential second wave or future crisis.

The questionnaire will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. It should be filled out by frontline workers and staff members only. Individual responses will be anonymous and kept strictly confidential. Only aggregate information will be shared.

A separate survey will be circulating to capture data from management, in order to provide dual perspectives of the sector, and will be combined into a final report that will be distributed in September.
