OCASI - Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants invites you to participate in a webinar series: Advocacy through Research for Frontline Workers: Supporting LGBTQ+ Immigrants, Refugees and Newcomers.
Webinar 1: More Than Just A Number: Research Through Storytelling
- Yara Kodershah and Sizwe Inkingi
This webinar introduces the concept of research as a form of advocacy for LGBTQIA+ immigrants and refugees. Learn the different forms that “research” can take in the context of community and settlement work, and how to use research to support frontline service delivery.
This webinar is part of our Positive Spaces Initiative Frontline Series, hosted by a range of experienced professionals working in the sector exploring the theme of Advocacy through Research. LGBTQIA+ immigrants, refugees, and newcomers are integral, though often invisible, parts of our communities. How can we use research and data to inform our best practices for serving vulnerable and marginalized people?
Date: Monday, February 11th, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
If you have any questions regarding the training, please email Chenthoori Malankov at firstname.lastname@example.org
